This course gives you the overall knowledge and expertise to efficiently undertake the roles and responsibility of a Crane Supervisor as defined by the appointed person. You will learn about the up-to-date Codes of Practice as well as the relevant legislation and regulations.
Candidates will be taught through a combination of classroom discussion and practical elements. Assessment is carried out via both practical and theory exams. The course lasts four days.
The course is aimed at supervisors and managers who are responsible for supervising safe systems of work for lifting operations.
If you are successful, at the end of the course you will receive the CITB National Construction College certificate and, upon completion of the CPCS Technical Tests, a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card.
You should have relevant experience of cranes that meets British Standard 7121 Safe Use of Cranes. You will be asked to fill out a self-profiling form prior to the course to determine you level of experience.
You will also need to have successfully completed a CITB Health, safety and environment (HS&E) test in the last two years and must have a good knowledge of both written and spoken English.
Candidates who complete this course will be able to take the assessment for the Level 3 NVQ/SVQ. This leads to a Blue Competent Operator Card.
