Your Green CSCS will show your photograph, name, CSCS registration number.
It will also contain a smartcard chip on which will be stored information about your qualifications.
There are two different Green CSCS cards:
To qualify for a Green Labourer CSCS Card you will be required to sit and pass the CSCS Health, Safety & Environment Test. In addition to this you must have a Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment or have completed Site Safety Plus Health and Safety Awareness Course.
This card is valid for five years and can be renewed. The interest individual must have achieved a NVQ/SVQ level 1 or a CSCS award. CITB HS&E test must also be passed.

Your Green CSCS Card is valid for 5 years, after which you must apply for a new card and pass another CSCS Test.
The Green CSCS Card is the second of the CSCS Cards. The card denotes that the holder is a competent labourer.
Over 80% of UK construction sites now require all of their workers to have CSCS Cards proving their abilities and health and safety knowledge.
With the current state of the construction industry it is very unlikely you will be able to find a job without a CSCS Card.
If you do not qualify for another CSCS Card it is essential that you apply for this one.
